Introduction to Grant Writing
This four-hour introduction to grant writing gives you a strong foothold to tackling that current proposal. We dissect the process and walk you step-by-step through each element.
In this course, we address the following:
Part 1: 9:30 to 11:30 am
Learn step-by-step procedures for writing powerful proposals that meet the requirements of potential funders/grantors. Review key items to include and discuss ways to develop strong relationships with granting organizations.
Part 2: 12:30 to 2:30 pm
Following a brief lunch break (on your own), participants will work individually or in small groups to define a need, develop a logic model, and begin the proposal writing process. If you attend with people from your own organization, this process will be more meaningful. A sample project will be available for attendees without a specific need in mind.
Target audience includes individuals and small teams of people (2 to 5) from 501(c)(3) nonprofits (staff, volunteers, or both) who have grant writing responsibilities and a current project or request idea they are working on for submission to a foundation.
