KPL’s collection for customers with special needs includes large print materials, recorded books, both described and close-captioned videos/DVDs, plus Braille and Twin Vision story and chapter books for children.

Via Mail

Patrons who aren’t able to travel to the library may still borrow materials from KPL. The Via Mail coordinator helps find materials, including books, CDs and DVDs, then mails them to the patron’s home with a free return envelope.

For resident cardholders only. Call 269-553-7809.

Deposit Collections

KPL loans collections of books to more than a dozen community sites that serve seniors. Library staff select books and fill special requests, deliver materials to the site, and regularly exchange the collections.

Friedman Room

Blanch Field Friedman made several generous gifts to the library to purchase assistive devices for the blind and visually impaired. This room will be temporarily closed during renovation of the first floor. It will reopen in 2010 with new equipment.
