Kalamazoo Community Event/Service Promotional Posting Procedure

Kalamazoo Public Library frequently receives requests to publicly post printed promotional materials for community events and services in our locations. Due to limited space and our commitment to reduce paper waste, KPL established a new community event/service posting procedure in August of 2018.

Kalamazoo Public Library will only post Kalamazoo community events and services that are free and open to the public.

All printed promotions must be submitted to the Marketing Department located on the 3rd floor of the Central Library for consideration. KPL will not print emailed promotions; they must be printed and delivered by the requestor. Promotions will be posted no earlier than 4 weeks prior to the event and will be discarded after the event is over. Promotions will be posted as space allows and at the discretion of the Marketing Department. KPL will accept single-sided posters and flyers up to 18” x 24.” Brochures, postcards, business cards or flyers with contact information pull tabs will not be accepted.

Please submit 5 copies of your poster/flyer if you wish to have your event/service promoted at all KPL locations. Please note that promotions will be posted at KPL branches at the discretion of the lead librarian at each location and as space allows.

KPL will not post:
• Personal advertisements of any kind
• Fundraisers
• Any event or service that is fee-based
• Promotions for events or services outside of Kalamazoo

KPL will not advertise community events or services on:
• Our website
• Our social media platforms
• Via email to our patrons
• In our quarterly printed newsletter PRISM
