Current board secretary Fenner Brown II was appointed to the board in August 2009 to fulfill a vacant trustee term. A library supporter, he regularly visited both the Central and the Powell Branch libraries as a child, taking advantage of the library’s many enrichment activities for young minds.
Fenner first served the community as an Eagle Scout, then assistant Scoutmaster with troop 292 in Kalamazoo. He led a project to renovate playground equipment at the Interfaith Homes for his Eagle Scout project.
A student at Western Michigan University, Fenner represents the student voice on the Downtown Kalamazoo Association Charities board, serves as an usher at St. Augustine Catholic Church, and recently joined the Young Jaycees.
He eagerly anticipates bringing diversity of thought, approach, and personality to the Kalamazoo Public Library’s board of trustees, and looks forward with great pleasure to serving the community through his KPL board service.
