Public Computers

Availability

Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is a two hour per day limit for Internet computer usage for KPL cardholders and a one hour limit per day for guest users. Guest passes are available at the circulation desk.

Internet Access

Public computer workstations are located on the second floor in the rotunda, and offer high-speed Internet access.

Microsoft Office

Public computers with additional productivity software, including Microsoft Office 2003 (2007 compatible) with Word, Power Point, Excel, Publisher, and Access are available in the Tech Center, located on the second floor.

Databases

Public computers with dedicated access to subscription databases (InfoTrac, Gale Virtual Reference Library, Ancestry Library, etc.) are available in the Reference Area and Local History Room.

Nonprofit Resources

Dedicated access to nonprofit resources are available at ONEplace, located on the second floor behind the Reference Desk.

Children's

Public computers reserved for younger users are located in the Children's Room on the first floor, featuring games and special learning tools.

Teens

Computers for public use are also located in the lower level in the Teen Area.

Law Library

Access legal resources on dedicated public computers in the Law Library, located on the lower level.

Special Needs

Computers and devices for patrons with special needs are located in the Friedman Room on the first floor.

WiFi

Free WiFi Internet access is available at all library locations for patrons and guests with their own devices.
