Why won’t my Kindle E-reader work with cloudLibrary?
Amazon uses its own proprietary operating system that does not currently support the ePub format used by most eBook services, including cloudLibrary. Kindle E-reader users will have the option to use OverDrive/Libby.
What titles will cloudLibrary offer?
KPL’s cloudLibrary eBook and eAudiobook collection features more than 100,000 titles including popular options from some of your favorite authors, new releases and much more. New titles are added weekly.
How many titles can I check out on cloudLibrary and for how long?
Check out up to 10 titles at one time and keep them for up to 21 days.
What if cloudLibrary does not have the title I want?
The title may be available in the KPL Catalog through OverDrive/Libby or Hoopla. KPL may also have physical copies of the title at one of its five locations, or KPL staff can obtain one for you through MelCat.
Will KPL still offer OverDrive/Libby?
Yes, Overdrive/Libby is still available.
Why is KPL offering both OverDrive/Libby and cloudLibrary?
cloudLibrary is an exciting new player in the library eBook world with many unique features (i.e. title sharing between libraries, an advanced easy to use app, a great selection of titles, reduced wait times on holds, etc.). Also, KPL wanted to retain our membership in the MCLS library cooperative eBook group (with whom we collectively own/manage our OverDrive service) while exploring the benefits of a new eBook platform.
