Newspapers
Historical Local and Regional Publications
Historical researchers are fortunate because the Kalamazoo Gazette, the major newspaper serving our area, is the longest continuously published newspaper in the state outside of Detroit. With only a few gaps (notably in the Civil War years), we have a complete run on microfilm from 1834 to the present. The Gazette is part of KPL’s Special Collections and is partially indexed in the Local Newspaper Database.
