Tax Information

KPL staff-selected resources. We welcome your comments and suggestions.

Tax Forms at Kalamazoo Public Library

  • Some basic federal and state tax forms and instruction booklets are made available at Central Library (free of charge, while they last)
  • Reproducible federal and state tax forms and publications, including instruction booklets, may be photocopied at all branches (10¢ per copy)
  • Previous years' reproducible forms may be photocopied at Central Library. Ask at Reference Desk (10¢ per copy)

Please note: e-filing is sometimes not successful from library computers, due to time restrictions and public network security safeguards. Library staff may not give tax advice, but we are happy to help you find tax information.

Free Basic Tax Preparation

Free tax preparation is offered from January to April throughout Kalamazoo County.  Tax help is for individuals/families with yearly household income under $42,000.  At KPL, IRS-certified volunteers from VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) prepare the taxes. 2009 tax preparation is now over.

KPL is a member of the Kalamazoo County Tax Counseling Initiative, which sponsors the tax preparation service.
