Michigan Asylum for the Insane, Female Department, c1900
Built in 1859, this building was originally used to house female patients. It was the first building constructed on the grounds, and was located immediately north of the administration building.

Pictured here is the current administration building of the Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital. The Female Department, demolished in 1966, was located immediately to the north of this structure.
