Kalamazoo, MI –
Kalamazoo Public Library has partnered with Bookbug
and Kazoo Books
to collect new or gently used preschool – 4th grade reading level books. The books will be sent to eager children in a primary school in Swaziland, Africa, as part of the African Library Project
The African Library Project changes lives book by book by starting libraries in rural Africa. Their grassroots approach mobilizes U.S. volunteers, young and old, to organize book drives and ship books to start or improve a library in Africa. Their method makes a concrete and personal difference for children and communities on both continents.
Those interested in donating may drop off books at any Kalamazoo Public Library location, Bookbug, or Kazoo Books now until September 1. In addition, Bookbug is offering a 20% discount to customers who wish to purchase a book to donate to the African Library Project.
