Kalamazoo, MI –

Kalamazoo Public Library is honored to host "An Evening with Notables" on Thursday, October 18, 7-9 pm at Central Library located in downtown Kalamazoo. Hors d'oeuvres and other delicious refreshments will be served. Space is limited and registration is required. Please note that Central Library will close at 5 pm that evening for this special event.

Join KPL along with the Library of Michigan Foundation for a celebration of the Michigan Notable Book Award program. Every year, the Library of Michigan selects up to twenty of the most notable books, either written by a Michigan resident or about Michigan or the Great Lakes. Each selected title speaks to our state's rich cultural, historical, and literary heritage and proves without a doubt that some of the greatest stories are found in the Great Lakes State.

Many current and past Michigan Notable Book Authors will be in attendance to personally autograph their books while talking with guests about their work. Don't miss this opportunity to meet these award-winning authors: Bonnie Jo Campbell, Wade Rouse, Karen Dionne, William Rapai, Stephen Mack Jones, Joel Stone, Michael G. Smith, Amy Emberling, Frank Corollo, Cindy Hunter Morgan, and Daniel Wolff. More information about these authors can be found at

Guests will have the opportunity to meet these Michigan Notable Book Authors, discuss their work and have their books autographed. Michigan News Agency will provide books for sale. KPL is also honored and excited to have local celebrity Lori Moore emcee the event.

Space is limited for this event. Please register to secure your spot at "An Evening of Notables."
