Calling all Geeks! It's Time for Geek Fest 2018

Get Geeked for Geek Fest 2018! This 3rd annual celebration of geek culture in all its forms, (comics, gaming, technology, cosplay and much more for all ages) will be held on Saturday, September 29, 11 am - 3 pm at the Kalamazoo County Expo Center, 2900 Lake St., Kalamazoo. This event is free and open to the public.
This year's Geek Fest features a cosplay contest with prizes, a robotics demonstration with Gull Lake Area Robotics, Mattawan RoboKats and 2 Paw Robotics, free caricatures, free comic books from Rocket Comics, Kalamazoo Ghostbusters, L'Arte D'Armizare Medieval Martial Arts, Nova Virtual Reality, a photo booth and Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion.
Gamers of all ages will enjoy 5Crests, Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator, Aunt Cathy's Kiddie Corner, Dragon-Knight Publishing: D&D Whispers of Starfall, Dungeons and Dragons: Toiseachadh 5e, Elder Signs, Glitch Video Game Lounge, Magic the Gathering, Munchkin, Pathfinder: Honor's Echo, Red Dragon Inn: Pookie No!, and Yu-Gi-Oh!
Featured artists and authors include Yuko Ota and Ananth Hirsh, Kenjji Jumanne-Marshall, Paul Sizer, Ruth McNally Barshaw, Jessi Fletcher & Sew Excited Cosplay, Chaotic Neutral Cosplay, Emily Kastner and Angela Sisk.
If you have maker mania, then come make slime with the Kalamazoo Ghostbusters, make your own cereal box journal with Ruth McNally Barshaw, make comic book buttons and origami superhero bookmarks, and learn about your future from the Harry Potter Sorting Hat Fortune Teller!
Bookbug, a local independent bookstore, will be on site selling books. Kalamazoo County Expo Center will be selling food.
