Paul Sizer, Leigh Ann Theisen, Shay Church
Enjoy beer label art by local artists Paul Sizer and Leigh Ann Theisen. Shay Church of Grayling Ceramics will also demonstrate how he makes his beautiful ceramic growlers and more. Please register.
Paul Sizer is a freelance graphic designer and comic artist living and working in Kalamazoo Michigan with his wife and fellow comic artist Jane Irwin. He self-publishes his own graphic novels, including the all-ages Little White Mouse series, the American Library Association award-winning graphic novel Moped Army, and his latest, the multi-media music based B.P.M. Paul also works with clients all over the world on design and illustration projects.
Leigh Ann Theisen
Leigh Ann Theisen is a Western Michigan University graduate and currently works for Founder's Brewing Company. As a freelance design artist, Leigh Ann has designed advertisements for beer and wine products, beer labels, package designs, and social media national ad campaigns. She has also worked events and assisted in designing material for Kalamazoo Beer Week.
Shay Church, Grayling Ceramics
Grayling Ceramics is the partnership of Shay and Maura Church. Shay’s career as a ceramic artist and Maura’s career in the restaurant business merged to form Grayling in 2014. They stand for thoughtful design, material integrity, fine craftsmanship and those that share our passion for artisanal food, wine, beer, coffee, and tea. Grayling Ceramics creates high quality ceramic beer mugs, growlers, and other ware for the home.
Art Hop is a free event that features new art exhibits in a fun, casual atmosphere. Usually held on the first Friday of the month, Art Hop is a fun, friendly, informal happening where people meet friends and family for an evening of art and entertainment. Numerous galleries and businesses host a variety of artwork, and you can hop around from one exhibit to the other. You also have the opportunity to meet the artist. Four times a year the Art Hop is expanded to include downtown Kalamazoo merchants.
