Discussion groups are the heart of the Reading Together program. Encourage your friends, neighbors, fellow students, or co-workers to read Snow Falling on Cedars. Organize a discussion group or join one at an area library. See the calendar for discussion group times and locations.
Discussion Group Help
Dates and locations of all public discussion groups will be published in the Reading Together calendar. If your group will accept new readers for your discussions, please tell us!
Trained discussion leaders are available to help groups. Reading Together will also help organizations or groups come together for discussions of Snow Falling on Cedars. Dozens of joint book discussions have taken place over the years—school students with senior citizens, neighborhood organizations from across the city, Portage and Kalamazoo city commissions, to name a few.
For help with these questions, or any concerns regarding discussion groups, please call 269-553-7913 or contact Reading Together.
Book Club in a Bag
Your group can borrow a Book Club in a Bag for Reading Together. Each kit holds ten copies of the Reading Together title, plus readers' guides and a sign-out sheet. Kits may be checked out for two months to eligible KPL resident cardholders, and organizations throughout the county via special one-time use of a corporate card.
To learn more, call Outreach Services at 269-553-7809 or contact Book Club in a Bag.
