Discussion groups are at the heart of Reading Together. Dozens of private book clubs that discuss the Reading Together book as part of its annual schedule. Numerous joint book discussions have taken place over the years, too, such as school students with senior citizens, neighborhood organizations from across the city, and Portage and Kalamazoo city commissions, to name a few. Encourage your friends, neighbors, fellow students, or co-workers to read Strength in What Remains. Organize your own discussion group or drop in on a community discussion group. Book Club in a Bag
Your group can borrow a Book Club in a Bag for Reading Together. Each kit holds ten copies of the Reading Together title, plus readers’ guides and a sign-out sheet. Kits may be checked out for six weeks to eligible KPL resident cardholders, and organizations throughout the county via special one-time use of a corporate card.
