Book Covers Reimagined
Many of the greatest classics in public domain have been left with poorly designed or auto-generated covers that fail to capture what makes these books exciting and inspiring to us. Recovering the Classics invites illustrators, typographers, and designers of all stripes to create new covers for 100 of the greatest works in the public domain. Reading Together Reimagined
During Art Hop on March 3, 2017, Kalamazoo Public Library will be featuring artwork from Recovering the Classics, a crowd-sourced collection of reimagined covers of works in the public domain. As part of this show, we are hosting a contest to honor the 15th Anniversary of Reading Together. Kalamazoo Public Library recently invited illustrators, typographers and designers of all ages to redesign a Reading Together book cover of their choice. It’s now up to you to vote for your favorite!
Vote for your top three (3) choices, now through Monday, February 27. Winners will be announced at Art Hop on Friday, March 3 at Central Library. Art Hop begins at 7 pm. The top ten Reading Together recovers will be exhibited as part of the Recovering the Classics display on March 3.
