Working in the Children’s Room at KPL helps create life balance as I get to move and sing with kids and their parents and caregivers. I’m particularly interested in helping to provide parents and caregivers with tools and materials to facilitate a language rich environment for their very young children. And it’s always a thrill to help patrons find just the right materials and information they need.

In fall 2008, I returned to KPL after receiving a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of British Columbia and working as a children’s services librarian at two public library systems in Canada. With a background in Elementary Education, I had worked as an assistant within KPL’s Ready to Read program in 2001-2002 where I became excited about libraries’ potential to facilitate emergent literacy in communities.

Constant interests away from the library include making songs and music, spending time with my family in and around our community and reading.
