I grew up in the small town of Manistee and came to WMU in 1987 to pursue a BA in English with a secondary teaching certificate. I’ve taught and developed workshops and curricula at a number of high schools and educational institutions throughout Michigan including Plainwell High School, Sandusky (Michigan) High School, and KVCC.
My first encounter with the excitement of libraries came at the Manistee County Library where I could be found just about every day after school and on Saturdays. This experience truly inspired me, and I am continuing the pursuit of my MLIS degree at Wayne State University.
As an avid Detroit Tigers fan, I watch a lot of baseball as well as participate in online fantasy leagues and attend live games and Spring Training. I also enjoy reading, listening to music and NPR podcasts on my Zune, and gardening. My husband, dog and cat keep me busy as well.
