Judi Rambow

The Alma Powell Branch Library is a great place to work. As the lead librarian it is a dream come true. My dream started with my first job as a student worker at the Blackstone Library, the oldest branch of Chicago Public Library. A couple of decades and six children later I fulfilled my dream by receiving a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Library Science.

Some of my job experiences include teaching in early childhood education, being a phone clerk on the trading floors of the Chicago Board of Option Exchange, and supervising on the Access Services desk at Western Michigan University’s Waldo Library. Although my job experiences appear to be unrelated they have brought me full circle to a learning environment that challenges my skills and brings me the knowledge that I might someday help fulfill someone else’s dream.
