Martha Coash

Way back in the spring of 1975 I started working as a half-time library assistant at the Oshtemo Branch Library. Since then I have worked in loan services, the cataloging department, and in the early ‘80s I moved to the library administrative office. When I began here I never thought I would still be here more than 30 years later – what started out as a part-time job has turned into a career. I’m very proud to do my part to support the provision of all the wonderful library services for our community.

I’m a life long resident of Kalamazoo, graduated from Kalamazoo Central High SchoolDavenport University and Western Michigan University. My family is all still in the area and a big focus for my husband and me now is our two grandsons – yes, I’m one of THOSE grandmothers.

Since I have always loved to read and spent my $1.00 allowance on Nancy Drew books at Beecher Kymer bookstore just down the street from Central Library every Saturday when I was growing up, it is only fitting that most of my adult working life has been spent at KPL.
