Beth Timmerman

I began working at KPL in 1998 as an aide in local history and eventually moved into the reference area of adult services. I was very pleased in 2006 when circumstances allowed me to come back to local history as a librarian.

My responsibilities include selection of local history materials, programming, and working the history room desk. My job is never boring. I meet new people and get to learn new things about Kalamazoo’s history every day.

I enjoy travel, reading, historic architecture, and exploring old cemeteries.

I received a Bachelor of Arts in public history from Western Michigan University and a Master of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University.
