Diane Randall

Before coming to KPL in January of 2008, I worked in both academic and public libraries. I have worked or volunteered in libraries a large part of my life. As a native Hoosier, both my Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Master of Library Science degrees are from Indiana University.

I regularly staff the reference desk on the second floor at Central Library as well as the reference desk of the Law Library. I also select the books for the math, physical sciencesengineering/technologymanufacturing, and building/construction subject areas. KPL is a great place to come to work everyday, and I enjoy the challenges of my job.

When I am not working, I spend time with my large extended family and three children. I enjoy gardening, many types of crafts, reading, and sitting on my deck enjoying the backyard with my large tiger cat, Pete. I am always coming up with some new project to do around the house.

I believe libraries are a vital element of a growing successful community. Libraries wear so many “hats” within the community and provide so many valuable points of service. Most important, however, libraries challenge one to grow personally and to continue to learn throughout one’s entire life.
