I’ve been with KPL since 1990 when I was hired as their first and part-time accountant. Although my position has expanded and changed over the years, first to full time, then to Business Manager and finally to Head of Finance & Budget, I’m still the accountant on staff. Some things never change.
Although a native Michigander, I came to Kalamazoo by way of Texas where I received both my Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in accounting in 1985 from the University of North Texas. Prior to KPL, I worked in varying levels of accounting supervisory, staff and support positions in both industry and government both prior to and after graduation.
Like many of my fellow staff members I love libraries and books. I have always viewed working at KPL as the best of both worlds. I have a rewarding position in my field and access to more good books than I’ll ever be able to read.
