I started working in at KPL in 1988. My career has evolved from the printing and graphic arts field, to carpentry, residential construction, and HVAC maintenance, and finally to facilities management.
My first job as a public employee was at Paw Paw Schools in the maintenance department, starting in 1980. My first assignment there was custodial and grounds work. Eventually I became responsible for care of the district’s plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
At KPL, an extensive renovation and building project in the mid to late 90’s was the focus of my work time for several years. The biggest change in my work has been the migration of building HVAC, electrical, lighting, and security controls to automated systems.
Library related duties consume most of my time, but I do have other interests. I have always enjoyed photography and woodworking as hobbies. During the warmer months I enjoy camping, hiking, and gardening.
I became an active library user starting in my middle school years, and have enjoyed libraries and reading in particular ever since. Having the opportunity to apply the work skills I have in a library setting has been very fulfilling and rewarding to me.
