I received my MLS from Syracuse University, New York. I’ve worked in several other libraries before joining KPL; University Nebraska—Lincoln (Lincoln Nebraska), Miami University (Oxford Ohio), University of Petroleum and Minerals (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia), Stark County District Library (Canton, Ohio), Kalamazoo Public Library (Kalamazoo, Michigan).
My departments are the behind-the-scenes type. In Technical Services we order the books, DVDs, CDS, receive them, make catalog entries and process them so that they are shelf-ready. We have a collection of approximately 500,000 items.
In Information Technology we deal with anything computer-related. We maintain about 25 servers including Web, Accounting, Debit Printing, Mail, Proxy, DNS etc. We also offer Technology training classes.
