I came to KPL with an extensive educational and international background. Before joining the staff at the library in 1995, I worked eight years teaching at local colleges, working at the library at Davenport University, Kalamazoo, MI, as well as working for S.W. Michigan businesses and companies in international division. I had the privilege to participate in many economic summits working as an interpreter.
I speak all Slavic languages and have a working knowledge of Italian. I also worked as a travel consultant for choirs and music groups.
I enjoy reading books, watching independent movies, listening to the music, my passion is travelling. I feel incredibly energized and excited when I can immerse myself with the culture of a country I am visiting. I like running, horseback riding, ice-skating, cross-country skiing, hiking, dancing, archeology, and sharing the “joie de vivre” with my family.
I would like every person who enters the library to feel welcome and completely satisfied. Some of my job responsibilities include: supervision of the library aides, attending departmental meetings, keeping alert to the new audiovisual items, preparing and processing orders for new/additional/replacement items, as well as, processing requests for the items that our patrons suggest to purchase for our wonderfully growing and expending audiovisual collection.
