I grew up in the small town of Manistee and came to WMU in 1987 to pursue a BA in English with a secondary teaching certificate. I’ve taught and developed workshops and curricula at a number of high schools and educational institutions throughout Michigan including Plainwell High School, Sandusky (Michigan) High School, and KVCC.
My first encounter with the excitement of libraries came at the Manistee County Library where I could be found just about every day after school and on Saturdays. This experience truly inspired me, resulting an MLIS degree from Wayne State University.
As an avid Detroit Tigers fan, I watch a lot of baseball as well as participate in online fantasy leagues and love to attend live games and Spring Training. I also enjoy reading, listening to music and NPR podcasts on my Zune, and gardening. I can be found walking the dogs or going to training classes with them, cuddling with the kitty cat while knitting or reading, perpetually cleaning the craft closet, reading cookbooks, or watching my favorite shows: old Columbo, Perry Mason, Mannix, or Rockford Files reruns, Criminal Minds, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, or Intervention.
I love working at KPL and hope you find our computer classes helpful as you pursue your life and career goals!
