Jill Lansky

I began working at the library in June of 2000 in the Children’s Room at Central Library.  From Children’s Room, I moved to the Oshtemo Branch/Bookmobile and then finally to my current position in Teen Services in 2003.

I feel lucky to have my position in Teen Services. I loved being a teen myself, and remember my time at Reese High School quite fondly! Here in Teen, you will usually find me working branch events like Eastwood T.A.B. or Drop Zones, hosting Guitar Hero Tournaments or finding the strangest ways to ReCraft what might be someone’s trash into a fabulous art project!

Depending on the sport season, you might find me officiating at area high schools for the MHSAA too! I am a registered official for Competitive Cheer and Basketeball. I am a strong supporter of educational athletics and love to encourage young people to live an active lifestyle.

I grew up in a small farming community just outside of Frankenmuth. After spending two years at Saginaw Valley State University and a temporary job making brakes in a GM factory, I followed my sister to Kalamazoo to attend Western Michigan University. Like many others that migrate here for an education, I stayed.
