I was born and raised in beautiful, warm, and big Mexico City. I have a University degree in Industrial Administration from Unidad Profesional Interdiciplinaría de Ingeniería y Ciencias Sociales y Administrativas (UPIICSA), National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City. I also received a degree in Banking from Vocational 5 “Taxqueña.” My professional career has been developed in Customer Service and Accounting at the Inverlat Bank in Mexico City where I was employed for nine years.
I came to the USA to learn the English language and advance my writing and speaking skills and have better job opportunities. Time has since passed and I discovered that I like living here in Kalamazoo.
I began to work for KPL in 2003. I work at three different branches including Central, Eastwood, and Washington Square. My main duties are working with the public at the Circulation Desk, especially with Latinoamerican patrons. I help them feel welcome and comfortable to come to the library. I also work at special programs and celebrations such as Day of the Children/Day of the Books and the Prime Time Program at Powell Branch Library. In addition I translated from English into Spanish the Patron Registration Application and the Closing Time Announcement at Central.
In my free time I like to read and listen to music. I love spending time taking care of my flowers as well as knitting. I enjoy every single moment of my life. I live far away from my country and my mom, Rose, but this makes me more mature.

Nací y crecí en la Hermosa, Calidad y Enorme Ciudad de México. Tengo título Universitatio de Lic en Administración Industrial de la Unidad Profesional Interdisciplinaría de Ingeniería y Ciencias Sociales y Administrativas del Instituto Politécnico Nacional de la Ciudad de México. Asímismo obtuve el títutlo de técnico Bancario de la Vocacional 5 “Taxqueña.” Mi carrera profesional se ha desarrollado en el Servicio a Clientes y en Contabilidad en el Banco Inverlat de la Ciudad de México, donde trabaje 9 años.
Vine a los Estados Unidos a aprender escribir y hablar Inglés, para obtener mejores oportunidades de trabajo. Pero el tiempo ha pasado y descubrí que me gusto vivir en Kalamazoo.
Empeze a trabajr para la Biblioteca Pública de Kalamazoo en el 2003. Trabajo en tres diferentes Bibliotecas como es Centro, Eastwood y Washington Square. Mi trabajo primordial es el atender al usuario en el mostrador, pero especialmente al que habla Español, los ayudo a sentirse bién venidos a la biblioteca. Asímismo trabajo en programas especiales y celebraciones como lo es EL Día del Niño/Día de los Libros y en el programa de Prime Time en la Biblioteca de Powell. Hice la traducción del Inglés al Español de la Solictud de la Credencial de la Biblioteca y el anuncio que se realiza a los 30, 15 minutos y al cierre de la Biblioteca.
En mi tiempo libre me gusta leer y escuchar música. Me encanta pasar tiempo cuidando mis flores, así como tejer. Disfruto cada minuto de mi vida. El vivir lejos de mi patria y mi mami Rosa, me han hecho más madura.
