Martha Lohrstorfer

I began my career with the Kalamazoo Public Library in 1988 as a library assistant in the Adult Services Department. In 1998 I received my master’s degree in Library Science, and took on the role of community information/law librarian. As community information librarian, I helped with the development of the Local Information Directory of over 900 nonprofit and service clubs in Kalamazoo County. The Law Library was a new addition to the library system, and I was able to build it from the ground up. One of the most successful undertakings was the development of the monthly Ask a Lawyer program which continues to this day.

In the fall of 2007, I transferred to the Oshtemo Branch Library/Bookmobile as lead librarian. The Oshtemo staff and clients are a joy to work with. And if you live near a bookmobile stop I’m sure you will appreciate its wonderful collection and friendly staff. Please come and visit the Oshtemo Branch Library or bookmobile – and make sure to stop and say hello!
