Wednesday night is family night for doctor Carla Stratton, DC, her daughter Brenna, 8, and son Ben, 6. “We go to the library once a week like clockwork. It’s especially important during school, when we don’t get to spend as much time together. We get together at the Library and the kids come home and read—a lot!” Carla says.
Their preferred library used to be Ostemo—it’s close to Stratton Chiropractic Clinic, which Carla runs with husband Todd Stratton, DC. But lately the kids enjoy Central. “My daughter has out-read Oshtemo,” Carla jokes. “And in the summer we like to walk through Bronson Park and along the mall before heading over to the Library.” When Dad isn’t working late those days, he joins the family. When he can’t join them, he lives vicariously through the children’s stories as they share their night’s selections with him at home.
