The New Health Care Law
The Patient Protection
and Affordable Care Act (ACA or Obamacare) became the law in 2010 and was
upheld by the Supreme Court in 2012. Among its provisions, the ACA requires
everyone to have health insurance coverage either through their employer,
individually through the Health Insurance Marketplace, or through Expanded
Drop-in Assistance Programs at Kalamazoo Public
Certified Application Counselors from the Family Health Center will be on hand to
answer questions related to the Affordable Care Act and to walk visitors
through the sign-up process.
Informational Nights at Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood will
be hosting a series of information nights at their location, 4201 W Michigan
Ave. Learn more about the Affordable Care Act and how you can get
covered! Planned Parenthood staff will present on the nuts and bolts of the
ACA, the basics of online enrollment, and help you set up your online account
for enrollment to the Health Care Marketplace.

you want to consider the policies certified as qualified health plans in
Michigan, then HealthCare.gov is THE health insurance
marketplace to serve you. Michigan Residents will use it to compare plans,
apply for financial assistance, and enroll.
