Kalamazoo, MI –
The Kalamazoo Public Library Summer Reading Challenge kicks off on Friday, June 1. Those that accept the challenge will trek “Around the World in 90 Days” by reading a suggested book from each continent. Unlike many other summer reading programs, KPL’s lasts all summer long and includes prizes for every 15, 30, 45 and 60 days of reading for kids and teens, and a 60-day prize for adults! Participants can play online or pick up a game board at any KPL location beginning June 1.
Readers can also visit our booth on the corner of South & Rose St. during June Jubilee on Saturday, June 2, 10 am - 2 pm to sign-up your whole family! While you are there, be sure to check out the Friends of Kalamazoo Public Library Summer Bag-of-Books Sale. You will find an assortment of fiction, mystery, romance, science fiction, large print, nonfiction, children's books and much more! Fill a grocery-size bag full of books for only $3 or pay 20 cents per book. Bringing your own reusable bag is welcomed and encouraged! The book sale will be open 9 am - 3:30 pm on the corner of Lovell and Rose in the Central Library parking lot.
More information about the Summer Reading Challenge can be found at kpl.gov/summer.
